Second visit, different route. From the S at Whitslade, expected to park on the minor road and walk a mile to Whitslade but was given permission to park by the shed. Wouldn’t have been an unpleasant walk but saved enough time to bag another couple of hills today. This is a fabulous Trig Point, so many hills in its panorama. It’s in really good condition too. Recommended!

Parked at Todrig nt429198.Walked the well defined track/road SW and parallel to Todrog Burn as far as the fence line at nt415186. Short hill climb using the wire fence as a handline to navigate. Pillar has great views and spider plug is intact. Interesting deserted settlements at Todrig and Todrigshiel. Also amazing meanders of the Todrig Burn.

Walked up from derelict farmhouse at Todrig across top of Stobi Hill, nice walk. Pillar sits at summit of hill of same name, close to wire stock fencing. Original centre cap retained, deeply indented lettering; rear sight hole open, RHD side plug badly deteriorating. Extensive views.

Parked at the top of the track to Whitslade where there is a large parking area. Followed the tracks up to the trig field and then across open pasture to the trig. Trig is on the North side of the fence but there is a small gate in the corner of the fence near the trig. Last one of the day due to rescheduled Teams meetings and having to pack to fly to the Caspian tomorrow, the last 5 around Hawick will have to wait.

Our last trig pillar on the Hawick list and surely one of the best! A lovely circular walk in the sunshine, great views from the top and a lovely walk on the way back following the very sweet Todrig Burn which had lots of fish darting around in it! 4.2 miles in total and a very good afternoon.

Mountain biked up from home via Harden Glen, taking track down to Whitslade from NT440175 then through gate to left as you reach the farm. Managed to bike up the track a bit further before an easy hike up the last half mile but am sure a more capable mountain biker would have no problem getting all the way up. Trig easily found alongside the fence with great views in all directions and the bonus of the journey home being almost all downhill.

Nothing eerie about the hills on a day a gorgeous as this one, although I can see how on a dark, wet and misty day the Todrig farmhouse would resemble something out of a Hammer Horror set. Or a Scoobie-Doo cartoon perhaps. Did a circular route taking the track on the N side of the Todrig Burn over Muckle Dod before dropping down and up the fence line to the TP. Wonderful views in all directions.

I parked at Todrig, having negotiated the gate across the road. As the previous visitor, I also felt the place was eerie and the hills seemed desolate. However, when I got back to the car, the farmer was just turning his pick-up and I had a long chat with him. Exceptionally nice man, absolutely besotted with the charms of his valley and farm. He has plans to renovate the big farmhouse and the smaller house up the valley which would change the feel of the place. Also, he was ENGLISH but had obviously embraced the Scottish ways and was very willing to share his land with visitors.

Parked on the verge just before the gate across the road to Todrig, then realised we could've driven further along. Easy navigation up to the trig from Todrig via a well defined grass track. Decent views from up top, however the general area was a bit too desolate for my liking, as well as being rather eerie with all derelict residences in the vicinity, and the bones strewn around (including a sheep's skull!). Our 75th trigpoint in the bag, and glorious sunny day for it :)

Made my way to the pillar from Todrig. Good grass tracks all of the way and no fencing to negotiate. Really decent 360 degree views considering the hill is less than 400 metres.
