Parked up in Barton le Street and did a circular walking to trig, over the hill to Coneysthorpe, and then back over the hill to Appleton le Street and onto Barton. Hadn't realised I was so close to Castle Howard. A further 16 benchmarks bagged. Bridlesways like bogs and makes difficult walking, but managed to stay upright and clean!

We enjoyed a lovely walk up from Coneysthorpe for this one - a revisit for me, and pillar #37 for my little trigbagger. Since my visit last year the hedge has been trimmed back, the crops have been harvested and the low fence between the ROW and the trig field is in a very poor state, so this one is presently very easy to access. Some vegetation from being hidden in the hedge has left the top of the pillar a bit obscured, but overall it's still in fine condition. We returned the same way.

Bagged from Barton-le-Street as part of a 5 mile dusk/night walk. Very overgrown trails and the trig was completely buried in the hedge. A bit of bushwhacking and I got in to look it over. Apart from extensive vegetation the pillar seems in good condition. Another point to note... going by the flattened crops and tracks leading to the spot I'd suggest this has been visited regularly but obviously not by folk logging here.
