Popped out to visit this trig whilst staying with relatives in Manchester area. It was a nice sunny day so parked up just off the A57 Liverpool Road and walked along the PROW over the motorway and up to the track on the left leading to the pillar. As we walked up the lane a car was pulled up by the pillar, maybe another bagger? Pillar is fairly well down in the earth so had to use the trowel to dig down about 6 inches to clear the FB, but as the earth was pretty loose, this was no problem. Not much to see really, but a mildly interesting walk nevertheless. Drove along Liverpool Road for a beer at the wonderfully unspoiled Stanley Arms in Patricroft.
