All good. A smart building, and the area outside has been tidied up in recent years. The Great Northern Station of King's Cross is somewhat dwarfed by the magnificence of St Pancras next door. Flagstaff in good condition; bolts not investigated.

Arrived on a Newcastle express for a few days in London. About as contrasting a building to St Pancras as could be imagined, but both beautiful in their very different ways.

I had a bit of time before my train, the 1906 to Lincoln, so I took the opportunity to photograph this and the St Pancras station spire. I must have seen them casually many times before knowing of their use by the OS. The view of this one is now much improved. I also found a couple of nearby cut bench marks.

On a day visit to London for the Royal Marines Concert in the Royal Albert Hall and took the opportunity to get a few Intersect Stations. This just after the St Panras Sttin Spire

Low marks due to vulgarity of traffic. Dropped off crew at Euston and trying to escape the madness. Chinese New Year (the horse) shut down many of the nearby escape routes. Took 3.5 hrs to travel 35 miles, on a Sunday midday. Worra godforsakenbastardsh!thole, meh :(

Waiting for a train so a very worthwhile time filler. When complete, the work to open up the front of KX again will be excellent, and the new passenger concourse is a wonder of design and engineering.

Retro log. Back in the 90s i used to hang with my mates metal band, Medulla Nocte, and remember my first trip to London with them was a gig at some dingy venue a stones throw from here

TQ47 T620 FLAGSTAFF, BOLT and BOLT (AUX). TQ 30300 83005 and BOLT (AUX) TQ 30279 83025. Flagstaff clearly visible on east (righthand) tower, while bolt (aux) is probably somewhere near the clock tower. A new concourse has been built at Kings Cross which is worth a visit on its own. Currently the old shops and ticket office are being cut off the front (literally) so couldn't get close enough to locate the bolt (aux) exactly.
