(244) A four day break in London, so all going well, a few trigs will be bagged along the way. Visited, and indeed photographed, St Pancras on many occasions before, but I was unaware that it was an intersected station, so I shall class this as my first visit. This will probably apply to a number of my London logs.

Like Rob, I had a bit of time before my train, the 1906 to Lincoln, so I took the opportunity to photograph this and the Kings Cross station flagstaff. I must have seen them casually many times before knowing of their use by the OS. I also found a couple of nearby cut bench marks.

Couldn't resist logging this again, looking gorgeous on a sunny evening. Back at Kings Cross in good time for the 1930 back to Peterborough. Afternoon in London for a seminar on flooding, at the Institution of Civil Engineers HQ, 1 Great George St, a fine building in the midst of London's finest. Walked there from Kings Cross and back, a dozen non pillar trigs en route as a bonus.

Really, a rather wonderful building. I remember watching a programme about the restoration of the station frontage and thinking how clever they were. But seeing it with your own eyes eyes is something else altogether. Splendididerous!

Same architect as Leafield Church Spire (TP9698) - Sir George Gilbert Scott - but clearly in his grander period. Wonderful elaborate architecture and a great restoration job.
