Dangerous walk up a busy road from Crystal Peaks (no footpath) but easy to find once on footpaths that lead to the pillar. Nice views.

Pillar in good condition, the centre cap has been replaced with a 3d printed one. Painted stones scattered across the pillar's base. Good views and we were lucky enough to catch a rainbow on this changeable early spring day before the rains came.

Parked in the Aldi Car park just off Eckington Way. Walked up the Eckington Way, before turning right onto a public right of way. Turned left onto a footpath, which takes you up to the pillar. The cap was missing, so I replaced it

On way to meeting in Sheffield. Parked at Aldi and walk up the field margin. Easy to find, with path straight to it. Loads of painted stones around it. Itchy.

Parked Springwell Grove, access through easy footpath and farmer has kept a trod leading through newly planted crops right up to the trig.

Parked on Springwell Grove, alley between houses leads out to RoW, followed W until near enough due S of the trig where a trod through a tilled, and probably sown, arable field leads to the pillar. Centre cap missing, no plug; LHD side and rear sight holes open. Good views.

Drove onto Springwell grove until I came to an access opening into the back field, parked car and walked onto field and turned left, depending on the time of year the trig should be visible, if not continue up the foot path and youll come to another path on your right that goes through the middle of the field passing straight by the trig.

Took the same route as eon and its only a 5 minute walk from the estate. Plug missing but otherwise OK. I actually spotted this whilst diving to it from about half a mile off....

(1522) Plentiful parking on Springwell Grove, and a path between the houses takes you onto the PRoW. A good few folks out walking their dogs today. Short walk down brings you level with the pillar. Wheat crop has been harvested, and a clear path leads directly across the field to the pillar - nice and easy this one! Plug missing, but all else in good condition. Pillar history: Built on the 12th of September 1947, at a cost of £5 5s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in November of 1999.

Same route as the jackrustles but I did the slightly longer walk from the tram station. Very limited pavements, obviously pedestrians not a priority. Trig in wheat field.

Parked a Lidl (N53° 20.774' W1° 21.223'), walked along the road to the footpath (N53° 20.932' W1° 21.309') and then up to the trig field, trig hidden in a tall crop of rapeseed. Luckily there is a path (N53° 20.946' W1° 21.224') all the way to the trig so you don’t need to trample the crop.

I parked in the pub car park in the Retail Park and then into the field near the roundabout and up towards the trig. There's a track up to the trig point that I guess has been trodden by dog walkers. I'm only guessing.....as I saw a dog walker on it.

Once I'd managed to cross the very busy road from Crystal Springs direction, it was an easy walk up the footpath and across a field of stubble. My previous visit in July was unsuccessful as it couldn't even be seen, never mind reached in the rape crop.

Revisit. Plug missing, hooks slightly flattened, otherwise OK. On previous visit the trig was on bare ground. Now, the 4ft-high pillar is surrounded by 5ft-high field beans so despite being on a path, it took a while to find.

After 20 mins looking for a closer parking spot I did like others and used Crystal Peaks then you have a short walk down a busy road to access prow which passes close to trig

Parked in Crystal Peaks as recommended by haighr01 and barnsley skip. The most difficult bit was crossing the busy road and avoiding syringes littering the verge. My last trigpoint of eleven for the day but my trigging companion CURRYSCRIM bagged another three that I’d already logged.

Been on business in London so was picking car up from Woodall and struck for gold.....walking boots and trousers and tie (excellent). Parked at Crystal Peaks and walked towards A57. Public footpath leads up a cutting and it was dark. Near to a little bench at the top I thought I would bottle this but I could see the trig through the darkness and headed fearlessly at it! Plug is indeed missing but good condition and a decent viewpoint even in the dark, made better by a huge pink moon in the early night sky. Great bag!

its still there. Housing estate has several access points into the field it occupies abd the field has welltrodden path around much of the perimeter. I walked up one side of the field and back down the other

Closest road is the link road without parking and the next nearest is lacking as well. so ended up in the shopping complex with an easy 500m walk back on the road. well trod path off the fp to the trig

Fantastic views in all directions from this pillar! It took a while to find where to park, but eventually the local housing estate provided a spot, and a pleasant walk along the public footpath through it. The weather was wonderfully hot and scintillatingly sunny, as the photo shows. The cap on this pillar has been replaced with some sort of plug made of tar or bitumen. Otherwise, the pillar is all intact, in the middle of a wheatfield, next to an old footpath.
