A bolt in the ground with an amazing view. Been many many times.

Oban bay view Many stunning views from here. Rather grey today but the perfect sunset spot.

Mr TJR did very well driving the camper van up to the carpark. Very large bolt - easy to spot.

Bolt on a surface block next to pulpit hill view point cairn, I have visited here many times and didn't even know the bolt was here. View is great over Oban, Kerrera, Mull and Morvern hills, even Cruachan peaks in sight.

From the town centre a straight walk down Albany Street towards where the road veers sharply to the right where a very nice waysign indicates a footpath heading left, up to Pulpit Hill. Lovely views from the summit at this time of year when the leaves are falling but in summer I think it's OS Viewpoint status might need a re-think unless the encroaching tree base is pruned/trimmed.

Parked in Tesco carpark - headed in right direction. Signposted as you ascend through houses. Block beside view indicator thing. Edges becoming damaged by mowing, top stud has yellow paint. Great views, esp down to harbour.

Day off from walking the WHW, so took a day trip to Oban. Easy walk up to a wonderful viewing point on a sunny morning, with a very helpful topograph. Large 2" bolt adjacent to topograph, generally good condition but scalped by the lawn mower, I think.

Ran out of time on way to Barra, so caught up with it after returning to Oban. Easy find as exposed and close to toposcope. Just need to approach hill top from SW and not NE! Bolt looks as though a rasp file has been applied to it.

Nice wee run to Oban today. Mostly sunny but a biting wind and fresh dusting of snow on the summits during the day. Nearly two hours to myself so wandered up here with my Nories fish supper (excellent as always!)

A wee quick run up to this one before getting the Mull Ferry. Nice views over Oban and Mull

Straight off the ferry back from Mull I drove up to the top of Pulpit Hill. The block is just NE of the topograph and has a wonderful shiny 2.5in brass bolt. The area has a great outlook over Oban and the harbour even in slightly drizzly conditions. Hutchesons Monument (TP8913) is clearly visible a mile to the NNW. A nice way to round off my very brief weekend trip! Thanks to peregrinus for adding this one to the database in time for me to bag it before I left - and several 'virtual' trig meetings on Mull too! :)

Block with large bronze head, obvious to N side of topograph. Nice view of Oban. Sorry not to see you on Mull, Ed - but we met here virtually...
