One of those occasions where the pursuit of a trig point takes you somewhere that you'd never heard of, would never otherwise have visited but is in fact a fabulous, magical place. Final trig of 26 on a weekend in the East Neuk, what a way to finish the trip. Parked at Morton Lochs NNR CP and walked 3.5 miles through fabulous woodlands. I saw no one en route but on arrival at the icehouse had to wait for family of picnicers to clear off so I could ignore the 'Do Not Climb' sign. Although late in the afternoon they were NOT in a hurry to move on. I wandered off and explored Tentsmuir Point for a very pleasant half hour of stunning views and glorious sunshine. On returning to the site I had it clear for a sneaky nip up onto the roof, the dog followed me up the first section where she found a lost frisbee ring while I found the bolt - both of us very happy with our finds!

Revisit. But this time managed to actually get on top of Ice House and see the bolt. Thanks for help Mr TJR

Mr TJR sent on scouting mission the day before to see if the block actually existing and it does! Not buried and in plain sight if you can make it onto the top of the ice house.

Location appears to be on top of highest part of the old ice house - a notable bat sanctuary nowadays. Lots of do not climb on the roof signs but even if you could get on the roof there's a foot or more of sand and thick turf coating it - until a storm strips all this away there's no chance of seeing if it's there.

Ice House

Ice House still in situ. Climbed on top of lower section, did not see anything there but too many people about to risk higher section. Did not have GPS or digging tools, lots of sand and vegetation on top of building.
