All Saints' Church, Wingerworth. Very impressive Grade I listed church dating back to the 12th century. A restoration was carried out between 1903-05. All good with the tower and vane. Records show that there was a 1GL "bolt in front" from the first primary levelling. That presumably means on the side of the church facing the road. However, that side of the church has mostly been built over with a large extension, with a foundation stone indicating that the extension was built in 1963. That means that the bolt has likely been built over by the extension, and nowhere on the church could I locate the bolt. Nevertheless, just down the same road as the church is on, Longedge Lane, at the junction with Hockley Lane, there is a cut benchmark on the right hand gate post

(1998) Grade I listed All Saints. Large car park. No BM present on the church - possibly lost to extension work?
