Staying in Craig Tara caravan park, walked down to the beach from here and around the cliff. I took the steep embankment up but actually on the way down I came out further along the rockface. Came out on a grassy open field with a path up onto the hill above.

The trig is slightly damaged. Views good. Took easier route back skirting around edge of field as cattle had moved, took longer than expected.

P150. Sat nav took me into the caravan park and down near the golf course. Cut across golf course and came to a gate with barbed wire around the top. Went over it and up track to field with lamas and goats. Went into this and uphill to the hawthorns and nettles, which I found a way through. Then over fence and through long wet grass to the trig. Quite an experience. Took the same route back.

Asphalt cap with terrible cracking all over, the top is wind-chewed on this really exposed pillar and all sights open. Windy, shiny and droppy... this lil feller is on the wrong side of the cliff fence - I do NOT like drops! Made my way (accidentally) as Descartes, avoiding the electrified fencing - the Donkeys are as hairy as Mammoths and I forded the burn as the Llamas went the other direction (some nice snaps).. I returned via Largs Farm track to avoid annoying the beasts. The Farm re-opens on March 26th, so make hay people! Slainte Descartes - I really should read logs ahead but we seem to mind match anyway! :D

Bower Hill ..look out - Llamas crossing! :D

Slightly damaged pillar standing on the cliff edge of the Heads of Ayr. FB faces SE-ish landward. Cap missing but asphalt plug present. All sightholes open with NW/SE hole clear and bolt is visible. The pillar's top screed is cracking badly with other small networks of cracks on the facing. Extremely good views along the Ayrshire coast and across to Arran. Access was extremely easy (maybe a winter thing based on the other logs). Parked at the Farm Park (closed over winter) and walked along the marked road under the disused railway (there's also a cheeky benchmark on that). Follow that track across a field containing some giant donkeys and llamas to the NW corner. Cross a little stream then ascend the hill trending southwards round the prickly stuff. No problem at all. Easy bag!
