On a round of hills from near Ordgarff, parking ~300m off the road at NJ 2625 0834. Approached from the S, this being the last of 4 hills. Pillar retains its centre cap, deeply indented lettering; rear sight hole open. Extensive panoramic views, slightly marred by thin cloud.

I unashamedly copied Carole's route and was glad of my electric bike to get me back to my car at Shenval. The road climbs to 550 m.

Amazing absolutely loved this one - parked at the entrance to military road and just headed all the way up - you can see the trig for miles before you get to it which is helpful - we also did Brown Cow Hill Corbett which was a trek but the views were amazing especially Ben Avon

Pleasant linear walk from NJ305018 (Shenval). Up track detouring to Fox Cairn, Carn a'Bhacain, The Ca, Camock Hill, Carn Leac Saigheir, Carn Mor and Tom a'Gharraidh (TG). Surprisingly TG had a good track/atv/trod right over it from NJ258078 and down to the road at NJ261087, where I had left my bike in the woods.

Planned a long time in advance…on the occasion of my 60th Birthday had to plant my flag on TP1962! Met with Sealf4 at Corgarff Castle and drove one car up to the track W of the pillar, and as the weather continued to improve throughout the morning we pushed on from the TP to flag the Corbett of Brown Cow Hill (Sealf4’s 3rd visit to this hill, my second, Storm’s first ever Corbett). Views from the TP weren’t perfect, but decent enough as the cloud lifted.

Carn Leac Saighdeir modelled as a birthday cake! Arrived home from this trip to take my fantastic team of staff out for a meal they thoroughly deserve. However they had a huge surprise for me - a birthday cake of me at a Trig Point with Storm sitting on top of it. Speechless!!

Parked to the N of the trig at the start of the RoW. Followed the marked tracks initially S then E to the pillar. Great views all round. Felt better knowing this is the 2004th highest hill in Scotland. With Nozzer.

Up to the top by way of tracks. Loved the old grassed bridge en route. Pillar has its cap in place with deep indented lettering, 2 s/h's open, and is set within its stony 'den'. Apparently, at 2293 ft, this hill is the 2004th highest in Scotland. I needed to tell somebody.

Walked from A939 west initially on Old Military Road then south and west. Pillar has low corral of rocks all round. Very good views all the way to the trig. Red Grouse and Golden Plover on way up. Pillar is perhaps surprisingly for location in excellent condition and still retains plug, large deep indented lettering.

Intact on a slabby tor with fine views of Strath Don. Being at the far eastern reaches makes no odds, this is a good no nonsense Monadh Ruadh hill. Strange goings on... Two men acting furtively. They moved away and once I was safely on my way returned. They were interested in the rocks and were discussing 10 fig grid refs. I suspect - Geocachers... Will check back here and see if I was right. I doubt it was Mr Alain Quy. No cache... What was going on
