Revisit with Trimble DA2, only 0.6m accuracy and trees don't help. Pruned my way in, dug down in softer area 0.6m W of old metal fenceline, but probing to 0.6m found nothing, extending trench a little way N and S found firmer ground and nothing down to 0.5+m. Left open, shouldn't be far away I think. May return with better accuracy. Approach from SW not muddy today, nice stroll

Location looking S Old metal fence is immediately to L

(3792) Parked at the start of Ashmead Road. Walked that until level with block, then followed a dog walkers path across into the woods. Remains of fences found but site all a bit of an overgrown mess. And hard to pinpoint exactly the right spot to start probing etc.

Revisit with OS sketch. Old metal N-S fenceline is presumably the one. I may have found the wooden junction post, toppled, unclear where it stood and no trace of the W-E fenceline. Semi recumbent trees made probing difficult, digging would be very awkward and no clear target location. Easy but muddy access from SW with parking at start of track

Location looking SW Metal fence, the toppled post may be the one...
OS sketch N-S fence still there...

On fenceline 10m into scrubby edge of wood, low GPS accuracy, awkward search area, token effort. Parking on verge to SE
