1" bolt on block, in grass-free alcove in edge of hedge, N verge directly opposite Earls Croome sign, 1.45m from road edge as per OS sketch. Didn't notice Sharen's screwdriver, if someone nicked it, wasnae me :-)

Bagged as YSM431 Dunstall Common. A wee hunt for the block and bolt. Had to use the screwdrivers as walking pole just wasn't deep enough. Left a small yellow one in place to help the next finder as area very overgrown.

Visited here on the way to Hereford to see the Mappa Mundi. Not a particularly inspiring location but another trig chalked off nonetheless. Nice folly nearby though...

Diverted off M5 on way N to Shropshire for the weekend. Parking OK at N side of road (same side as the SB) on verge. 1" bolt in concrete block; easy spot as partially uncovered - had OS sketch but hardly needed it. Clearled a little more turf and left exposed.

Took the short diversion off the motorway when travelling from the Midlands to South Wales to find this one. It is still nicely exposed although the hawthorn hedge is trying its best to engulf it. After taking the protos we took the dog for a run across nearby fields up towards the NT owned area. Great views of the castle from the bolt.

Did this Surface Block as YOSM431 and whilst out doing the Croome Ponders series. Very easy to spot and no need to jump the ditch, its right next to the road with convenient parking too. N52 05.109 W002 09.806 Elevation 12 meters.

Last time I was here I did not know whether it was a pillar, surface block, rivet or what - it just appeared on the SatNav. This time I knew and had read others posts and I found it straight away as it is still clear. This was my Mum's first surface block - and I think she was less inspired by it than she is by the pillars! The sign on the opposite side of the road made a good stand for the gorillapod and camera, but the block gets a 6 because of the fascinating folly at the other end of the open ground. Still nice and easy to find, stand with back to line of hedge on opposite side of road and look where the muddy track leaves the higway can't miss it

My first surface block! Having experienced trouble with rivets and bolts I came expecting a long search - and [as is always the way] I found it straight away! It's in the grass verge adjacent to a make-shift layby on the lane. Vegetation has been cleared from it. Very good views westwards towards Malvern.
