Not really sure I should bag this as only saw from a distance. On a long walk from Falkirk to Kilsyth and spotted this trig with a flag in it! Couldn't see an easy route up on the map and didn't fancy the negotiating with residents, so just snapped the photo from the tow path...a cheat really.

A rather sorry flag , erected on this trigpoint. Trig slightly damaged. Glad I visited on a frosty day, as it looked mucky al around. It looked like the cattle, that had been here had used it as a scratching pole. Easy Accecc and very short walk to bag.

An easy bag from the afore mentioned gate. Field has sheep and a bit soft and muddy but no problems.

100% accessable used the grid ref of the gate further up the road(@jackrustles) and followed field edge round and onto trig at top. Flag recently replaced too. When walkin up originally from the tunnel. There's a gap in the gorse which leads to a fence opposite the car garage. I jumped the fence from here on the way out.

Caught train from Falkirk to Croy then walking back on John Muir Way. Made the diversion to trig point by doubling back through a small paddock to east then across fields. Flag on trig point looking a bit worse for wear.

Quick chat with friendly home owner at No 21a then up his drive and over the gate. Pillar in good condition with a fairly new saltire flying from the flag pole. Logged as "slightly damaged" to account for the addition of the flagpole

Spied the gate at the top of the private drive, but being a Sunday afternoon i didn't want to disturb. Parked at the front of the scrap yard, up the bank, over the fence and to the trig.

Parked at front of scrap car yard at start of road parallel to pillar. Straight up through scrub and over wobbly, tall fence with barbed wire.(Not easy at all). Circled to left till a gap in gorse appeared. Pillar still topped with concrete but new flag on pole and two memorial plaques.(One has dolphins-maybe they live in the nearby canal?)

Log #381. Parked around bend in the road, and hopped a gate to go around the back of the houses. Easy walk up to pillar, which offers good views over the town. FB is BSM-style, with a large concrete block on top to support the 15ft flagpole. There is barely anything left of the flag, looks to have blown itself to bits. [ExP-260/MiP-34/Rev-6/BM-25/IS-38/Other-18]

I didn't fancy an encounter with the gorse so I got to this one by jumping a gate in the street roughly to the south east, on a council street, past the posh new houses, just on the road to Bonny Farm. I then took a left to go through another gate to reach this wee hill. At first sight I assumed that this pointy wee hill was part of an igneous sill complex like nearby Myot Hill and was very surprised when I got home and checked the Falkirk BGS sheet and discovered that it is infact made up of sedimentary strata! The hill is on an area of improved grassland obviously being used for agriculture. Someone has recently painted this trig but it's festooned with stuff including various memorial plaques and the flagpole. Still the trig itself is in decent condition. Nice views of the Denny and Kilsyth Hills and the Ochils from this one.

undoubtedly a very patriotic pillar but damaged by crude concrete block on top to hold the flag pole for the saltaire that flaps proudly in the breeze and dreich drizzle. Badly painted cream without even bothering to carefully keep the paint off FB. awkward to access. I clambered up a bit of south bank with awkward climb over barbed wire fence. without doubt best way is via the gate about 400 m up the road and into the field which was the way I returned

Pillar looks fine apart from appendage on top. Because of wooden structure attached to pillar to support flag pole, it is impossible to see any damage to top.

Cap filled, broken and uni-strut flagpole mounted, chewing the top with ugly support bars. Only the Northern sight remains open on this BSM pillar. Smashing Northern views from Campsies round to Ochils with Blackhills aeriels away SouthEast. Neat view over the canal that runs round the base of the hill. Mixed feelings over this one - easily the most patriotic pillar but the straining flagpole will weaken and shatter this poor wee devil well before his time! Bettys memorial plaque should have been enough without such short-minded thinking! :-(

Marking this as 'Damaged' due to some genius bolting a flagpole on top of it. A lot of chewing out the top now. Otherwise, in good condition. FB faces east-ish with north-ish sighthole open only. Spider looks intact and the cap is missing but plugged with asphalt. Nice views along the Forth/Clyde canal and towards Rough Castle roman fort (well worth a visit). Accessed via a farm gate at NS8295080145 which avoids the gorse!

Last trig of the day and it nearly had us beaten, as we could not see a way through the the thick gorse bushes. However, never ones to be put off, we drove up and down the nearby road until we spotted a gate that allowed us access two fields from the trig. Nice view of the canal, but otherwise too grey and overcast to see much else. Asphalt plug.

Stirlingshire. We accessed from further up the minor road by going through a gate and then following the fields back behind the houses. A vertical assault through brambles and over a fence did not appeal. Asphalt plug.

Second visit. For GPS measurement and photography. Top surface of pillar is erroding away, but the column trunk is in good condition. Spider centre has asphalt plug. Flush bracket faces 90°,due east. Vented through north sighting hole. Simple top with more hazards than a Munro. Approach from SE otherwise fight through rosebay willow herb with internal brambles and fallen logs. Views to Tomtain, Birns Hill, Myot Hill, Dumyat, Ben Cleugh, Dumglow, Knock Hill & Pilkham Hills. Revisited & photographed 6/08/2005, GRP.

First visit. To record FB number as S3611. The pillar was completed 12th January 1946 costing £6.7s.6d. In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation at tertiary station NS77/T69 in the Glasgow secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1964. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in December 1983. Nice little bump by the Forth & Clyde Canal.the Forth & Clyde Canal.
