Up to watch heavy stuff getting moved at Donald Dinnie Day at Potarch so went early to get Craigmore trig in before events started. From car park along path then followed the capercaillie signs to trig. Getting quite overgrown around pillar but pleasant enough walk although no view to be had. All in though an excellent day out.

Just followed the path with the Capercaillie on the marker took us straight to the trig - too much forest for me but the trig was enjoyable and in a wee bit of a clearing not much views though.

Parked in Marywell, an attractive little place, and followed a series of tracks and footpaths, helped by a notice-board along the way which showed the whereabouts of the trig ie: 218 m, and next to a pathway. Pillar has its cap (not yet stolen) with stamped lettering, and two sight-holes open. At the pillar I met a woman complete with a hunting net and we fell into conversation - I can't remember the last time I met a lepidopterist; very interesting. Today was quite remarkable for seeing loads of daffodils in this area still at their best blooming (or blooming best).

Another one by bus for me. Pleasant walk from Bridge of Potarch. Glimpses of south Deeside through the very open plantation woodland. Spider intact with lettering. Pillar supporting a thriving moss garden. Could have made it back for the next bus back to Banchory (and next TP) but extended the walk on then returned to Potarch and walked along the Deeside Way to Kincardine O'Neil then caught bus to Banchory and Brathens TP

Parked at the Potarch car park and followed the marked trail anti clockwise to arrive at the pillar after what seemed a long haul. Surrounded by trees, so no view. Carried on round to arrive back at the car for lunch. With Nozzer.

Parked at an ice rink in Potlach, loads of kids playing and skating about. I could a got a few medals today as I slid about getting out of the car! Lovely circular walk around the forest via some geocaching and the trigpoint. Sat in the sun and had our lunch. Lovely day but made this one much longer than it needed to be and no energy for any more today!

Free car park at Potarch. Forest walk Red Route clearly shown on display board goes right past the trig pillar, route not quite so obvious on the ground, especially if you go clockwise as I did! Nice peaceful summit area.
