Definitely a rather special hill visit for bringing up the milestone of 900 Humps today. Marvellous views all around to Skye, Raasay and Applecross, and this definitely is really quite a first rate collector's item to be fortunate enough to visit here.

Paddled out from Toscaig with a reasonably strong north-westerly wind which made the crossing in the middle of Caolas Mor "interesting". A tricky (due to the thick vegetation) and uninteresting ascent to the pillar but more than made up for by the spectacular 360 degree views of Inner Sound and Loch Carron from the top. Best view under 150m in Scotland? Annoyingly my photos don't do the view justice. Pillar in very good condition with all its metalwork.

Nobody has pinched the top off this one... The hill is called Meall a'Chrois and is on the 100m drop list. Visited along with Rona, Eilean Tigh, Longay and Scalpay using an RIB out of Portree. Short walk up from tricky landing over short heather.
