Second visit, different route: parked at the Groverake Mine layby (good information board there) and followed the PROW east up past mine excavations and spoil heaps then as the gradient eased headed N and found the 566m high spot on the fence line and followed that back E along the ridge to the TP. Had intended to amuse myself today by doing 'Dry' Rigg when it couldn't have been wetter, but in truth the hill pretty much lived up to its name, and the weather was bright and sunny, views extensive.

Parked to ENE on minor road from Hunstanworth - Lintzgarth where ROW cross the road with Finger posts in both directions. No path traceable at this point, however 100m north there is a track onto the moor, it gives an easier bit of access as you head towards Cuthberts Hill. From there down to a gate and follow fence line all the way. Good views, however the whole moor has been managed in a way to benefit the Grouse Slaughtering Industry, its all rather manufactured and featureless. Dry Rigg was, however, dry - I'll bet some years this route is nothing but an absolute quagmire.
