Completely in agreement with the remarks about bagging this one in the winter season when the nettles etc are died back a bit; I came at it from the A915 to the SE, and paddled about in a couple of hedgerows whilst wearing cycling shorts. And then felt the effects for several hours afterwards. Trig sits atop a small hill, little visited and with poor views due to surrounding trees in most directions.

Climbed and followed path to top and trig. Continued on path to rejoin dismantled railway to N of trig. Fine in winter, wouldn't fancy it in summer vegetation.

Only 500m from parking, what could go wrong! Parked at N56° 11.613' W3° 02.925'/NO 35018 00593, walked along the Leven Road past the bowling club to a gate at approximately N56° 11.601' W3° 03.015'/NO 34924 00572 and into a very wet field. GPSr started to play up then and we had a wee domestic about the correct direction of travel, to realise that we were on the wrong side of the embankment. Then to discover that we weren't on the embankment at all but on the other side of the burn next to the embankment. Choice, retrace our steps or cross burn. We crossed the burn (very deep and not advisable) and then up the slippy steep muddy slope to arrive at the tarmac path. However trig was still up a steep and very overgrown bank and no way to get up it. So we walked three sides of a triangle to a fence line and managed to scramble up to the trigpoint through some deep badger holes (one of which I decided to visit more than my better half) and some very high vegetation. Route back to carpark much better via N56° 11.849' W3° 02.930'/NO 35019 01031 (Fenceline, cross here), N56° 11.824' W3° 02.860'/NO 35090 00983 (Fence barbed cross here), N56° 11.715' W3° 02.755'/NO 35196 00779 (Gate)

Parked just off the roundabout in the car park. Followed the main road towards Leven where you can pick up the old railway line. At NO3495901001 where the telegraph poles come down the hill there is a path in the woods, take this to the top of the hill. Follow the path and climb over a steel gate, keep going 10m until you reach the cherry tree's. You can gain access to the field the trig is in here as the field boundary along the rest of the path is a barbed with fence. Best to do this one in the winter when the nettles and thistles have gone to sleep!!
