First visited in 1984, and noted that the FB number is next in sequence after my home pillar, Blackford Hill. Re-visited by GRP, 30th November 2002. Falside Hill is one mile southeast of the East Lothian village of Wallyford, approximately 7 miles east of Edinburgh city centre. The pillar is at the side of an unclassified road at the end of a farm track. There are no access restrictions. If approaching on foot from Wallyford, a right of way climbs from NT369717. A parallel path further northeast which lead straight to the trig point is now severed by the A1 dual carriageway. The spider cap is gone (open) but the pillar is otherwise in very good condition. The flush bracket is on the southwest side of the pillar. Latest visit 27/12/2004, in company of Rob Woodall, trig all well as found previously.
