Visited 26 Lower Thorn and had pleasant discussion with occupant in back garden, but GPS pointing to her rear neighbour. Then visited 'Glendell', 341 Winslow Rd but no-one in. Seems pillar most likely would have been theirs if still in tact. However, OS records it destroyed Apr 1974.

The pillar here has been lost to modern housing. The town centre of Bromyard is pleasant enough though and worth a quick look over.

Passed by many times on the way to the football, but never popped in for a look. Went the way of the housing estate a long time ago. Hill top overlooking Bromyard. (Number from GRP - Trigonomy database, which also notes a destruction date of April 1974. How many times have I passed this pillar when it was standing?)

It's not on my 1974 OS map and there is now a new housing estate in this location. One of the residents told me the estate was built in the late 1960's so it is certain that it fell foul of the builders. Why can't pillars be listed as Ancient Monuments like red 'phone boxes and some letter boxes?

SO 6455 5441 implies newish housing N side of A44, no sign of TP from road and in view of small gdns, presumably destr by builders; was S7961, built 11/05/53, destroyed 04/74 (GRP/OS)
