An easy walk up the track and into the field at the top after parking at the road junction and over the gate opposite. Unfortunately no view as dense mist. A very friendly lamb came running over to me looking for a feed.

Parked on side of road at turning to south off B3205 about a mile south west of Raddicombe. Over gate and along farm track beside field north and uphill. At gate at top pillar visible to west in next field, probably sheep pasture. Good views to south west across the Dart and north towards Torbay. Possibly used as a scratching post by livestock as a bit muddy around base.

Approached via farm at south-east. Asked farmer's permission who poked her head out of an upper window. Steep path up to summit but rewarded with wonderful panoramic coastal views.

Visited last year but couldn't get close as crop in field. Up farm track along hedge line from near the old toll house on the B3205. A little hesitant as farmer was working in the upper field but he was very friendly and not a problem to visit his trig point. Lots of large 4 week old lambs in field. Good views from this flat topped hill. An additional point for the friendly farmer.

Parking on Broad Road to SE. Good farm track most of the way, then across muddy arable field to summit and trig. Pillar in good condition with smooth screed finish; cap missing, no plug; all sight holes open. Lovely panoramic views.

I walked over from Brixham along the coastal footpath and then up a beautiful valley path. I thought I had chosen an easy route to this one but it turned out to be difficult. I started opposite the campsite at Hillhead. The walk over the first three fields was easy but it must be a different farm to the one with the trig in it as there is no gate into the last field. I found a convuluted way through in the end but would advise any future visitors to enter from the south after seeking permission at the farm. Nice views.

We found a high quality walk by asking at the farm and walking up to the trig. The farmer was very nice and we had a good chat about Charolais Crosses, a large number of which were in the field leading up to the pillar. You could wing it and head straight up the track without visiting the farm as there is a gate into the field opposite Nethway Cottage. Good views, as you would expect for a primary. Plug with indented lettering.

Hmm, this is on the ridge between this higher and lower Dart ferries, and there is no access from either. I managed about 0.16mi distant from the higher ferry road, and could not see the pillar. Permission only yet again. Why give it '8' then ? - easy, this is a great bit of countryside and with some exploration, you will find some very high quality walks ...

The pillar is beyond there somewhere. Looking WNW at the ridge (& the sunset) from the Collaton road...
