Like others have said, inaccessible but nearby photos via the bottom of Barmhouse Lane. I even had a resident little birdie keeping watch for any trespassers on my visit

One of three trigs bagged on the way to a night out in Manchester. It is impossible to reach as it sits on top of hill behind a locked security fence. Understandle as it protects a floating solar power farm said to be the second biggest in the world. No views to speak of but the pillar seems to be in good condition though it's not possible to say with any certainty.

Visible from the bottom of Barmhouse Lane. Unreachable but visible is such a frustrating category, but ends my run of 3 blue faces in a row. Not a lot to add other than to confirm this is a well secure compound, but at least it is visible and appears to be in good condition prisoner that it is. And it is on OL1 Dark Peak so another ticked off that map.

Did on a circular route from Cheetham park, Trig is easily visible from PROW but is inaccessible because of high fence and cctv, Trig looks in good condition shame you can't get closer

7/8 This is the last trig on my OS OL21 Dark Peak map to bag, a bit of a disappointment as it is inaccessible. There is no easy way to get to this trig what with the high security fence and CCTV. Shame, but still adjacent to a public footpath. On to Werneth Low, last bag of the day.

Not much to say as you can't get to this trig. Parked at the opening on Rowanswood Drive and walked 30 yards to the fence line. Trig is to your right.

A circular walk from Broadbottom via Werneth Low and the War Memorial. I had the same issue regarding the fence and questioned the solar powered security cameras etc. The pillar is very visible and close to the fence. I googled it when I got home. The reservoir is Europes second largest floating solar power farm (in 2016). It consists of rafts of floats with 12,000 individual panels on top. So every reason to be fenced off I think. I dedicate the two pillars today to Pfizer, ground breaking news!!!!

A bit of a box tick joining the miserable list with Boardmans Reservoir as seen but untouched, highlight was probably the little pony in the field below. Completes the trigs in the area with Werneth, Hollingworthhall, Mossley Cross and next stop Hough Hill all visible through the murk.

The company who own the reservoir have fenced off the entire resr including the trig. I couldn't get to it when I went looking but I could see it.

Once you're in the estate you can weave around the streets tracking the route of the bridleway right up to where the trig is. It's well fenced off on top of the reservoir

Easy to get close to, but impossible to get right up to. This pillar sits on the reservoir side behind a high fence and up on top of the dyke. Even so, from the ground it is possible to look up at Hartshead Pike and Brown Edge

Approached from south west - very big fence including land to north west of reservoir. Foot tunnel under the motorway is passable if heading for Newton Station.

Blimey! Just what's in that reservoir that it needs hundreds of yards of 18ft fencing topped with razor wire? I decided against attempting to reach the pillar for fear there might be a PBR Streetgang on the water ready to give the order to Almighty. Visible from 20 metres though.

Reervoir now surrounded by high fencing, as is the area to the north. The bridleway now goes from the trig point to the bridge over the motorway, following the motorway. Pillar can be clearly seen and looks in good shape.

bit awkward to get too, but it is reachable. the barbed wire fence is strong enough to support your weight no problems. nice reservoir too. however there is construction work going on at the moment so the bridleway following the side of the reservoir has been diverted northwards and now follows the motorway.

Barbed wire was not a problem, it has its weakness where you can get over without climbing on any wire- a no no. On the edge of the reservoir, and definitely S2759. Concrete plug replacement. Slow trip over from Mellor, bagged the Werneth Low Clem en route. Lots of plovers (lapwings) on the edge of the reservoir.

Pillar on grassy retaining bank of reservoir. Visited between snow flurries with car parked beside the electrified Manchester-Glossop railway line.
