Fourth of a productive day. Parked at end of Hamilton Hall Rd and walked up the road. Followed right hand turn at the fork and up 'avenue' in between crops. Saplings of bushes growing in it now so may be more difficult in the not so far off future. Easy ascent though, nice shallow views over farmlands and coast. Pillar in good condition although no cap.

Busy bank holiday weekend with car park at Fraisthorpe buzzing. Left them all behind on my circular walk to take in the trig and passing through Barmston. Topped up the sun tan with lots of sunshine and clear blue skies. Collected 15+ BMs along the way.

Follow the PROW from the village. When you get to the farm a series of bunkers from World War 2 can be seen on the right. Continue on the PROW with the hedge on your left. At the end of the hedge turn left between two fields. The pillar is at the top of the hill. It is in good condition but the spider centre is missing. Great views towards the windfarm, Bridlington and Flamborough. The white cliffs are clearly visible and you can just make out the two lighthouses at Flamborough.

At last - the first new trig pillar of the year. Special place for it. Parked near the old coastguard houses at Skipness, north along the coast then back towards Brid. Chalk cliffs in the distance, hills kicking up from the flatlands to the west. Along wide gravel track (also FP) then along the rough grass edge to the top. Beautiful golden sunset on the way back.

A good one on the views to effort ratio - although only 26m, the highest point for miles around, and a nice sunny evening too. Flamborough, Bridlington, and lots of farmland and coast, only slightly marred by the wind turbines and a large muck heap! Centre and E s/hole open, others closed or buried, overall excellent condition.

At least 3 WWII pillboxes are also dotted around various points at the farm, which made for a nice additional point of interest.
