Had to go to the outskirts of Barrow to tick off the last pub in Cumbria for the 2023 Good Beer Guide so combined it with this fairly easy trig. Parked in the layby opposite the entrance to the Glamping site and walked up the track. Just before the pods took the FP that skirts around the hill, through the gate into the second field then over a rickety wooden gate and up the incline to the rounded summit. Quite blustery, but excellent views over Barrow, Askam and the South Western Fells. Noticed a much newer metal gate to the north, so hopped over that, then down back onto the FP. Much easier. Beer in the King's Arms at Hawcoat afterwards.

To justify a 1 minute appointment at Furness Hospital and to make the most of a cracking good day, I did a short circular walk from Askham. A new area and very intrigued with the history, and will have to return. At the summit (slight detour off the PRoW) the Cumbrian hills and Morcambe Bay were in their glory. Gifted to the NHS who got my hand "sorted" in 3 months and I was "signed off" today.

Parked opposite the entrance to the farm drive. Walked up the road till i picked up the ROW which runs in front of the glamping pods. I followed the ROW until i was inline with the trig then up the hill to keep out of site of the farm, but as i reached the top the farmer was sitting in his tractor with his feet on the door handle watching the sheep and birds in the estuary. No problems though, he just put his hand up, started the tractor and trundled off. Returned via a gate on top of the hill to the ROW and back to the van the same way.
