Parked in Ashton under Hill on lane heading north west. On foot, lane leads uphill bears south west then through a stable yard and through a gate, then up a rocky uneven track. At top of track path opens out to grass sheep pasture , pillar visible to east on other side of the valley. Continued to top of valley before turning east. Wonderful views to east and higher ground of hill to west with ridge and furrow features. Lovely sunny day. Spider and cap in place.

Whilst enjoying the view at Banbury Stone, on Bredon Hill, we noticed this trig not that far away and decided to extend our walk. Good decision as we were able to enjoy part of Wychavon Way, including red kite and other raptors, a lone stag and what appeared to be the re-wilding of a meadow.

I was the first to log this trig on TPUK 30th of August 1998 so today was my re-visit after 25 years after a day of walking 17 kilometers of the beginning of the Cotswold way which has been Chipping Camden to Stanton with my friend Dave Ballinger so this was an evening revisit from close by up the track on the little Road to the south east of trig from Ashton On The Hill and I saw a herd of deer on the summit just before I got to the grassy spur and just managed to capture two of them before they rushed off with my zoomed in phone camera very quickly but they were already on the move and running away.

Parked on Elmley Road. Walked up Baker's Lane onto the public right of Way. From there, entered the trig field and walked up a steep incline to the pillar. Came across the landowners on the way back who wanted to know why I was there. However, all quite amicable in the end and the owner apologised for having to ask. Apparently, they have had problem visitors recently (5 of 7 today in and around Cheltenham)

Blooming nightmare, started on PROW and then decided to turn off in the direction of the trigpoint at roughly SO 99513 38869. Ground not so bad to start with but soon became brambles and other types of jaggies things, these totally ate me alive. Coinea however managed to find a small path which I suggest you find or you too may suffer the same fate. I had no choice but to continue upwards in the jaggies as backwards looked worse. Eventually got to the fence and the top and headed back via the field and over a fence back to the PROW.

Here I am in my beloved south Worcestershire, today walking in one of my favourite places - Bredon Hill. The pillar is about 1/3 down from the summit on a pronounced terrace on the eastern flank of the hill. It's all intact with the original plug, with indented lettering. The east viewhole is open, the rest closed. The concrete base is some 4" above grass level, and there is quite a lot of erosion around the base indicating it is a meeting place for possibly people but more probably sheep! There is no white paint visible at all. It's in a sheep pasture about 300 yards off a bridleway and near a wood from which 3 buzzards 'mewed' lazily overhead and, on a wonderful day like today the E/SE views over the Cotswold scarp, Oxenton Hill, Dumbleton Hill and the Vale of Evesham stretched out before me. A green woodpecker 'laughed', the butterflies played around in the air - what a wonderful spot! Off down to Ashton-under-Hill now for a picnic and a pint of 'Old Hookey' in "The Star" inn. You could have died and gone to Heaven.........
