The last of four easy bags on my drive from Peterborough to Nottingham. Drove up Little Lane and parked up by the entrance to the farm. Ring the bell and a nice lady said it was her sister's place but she wouldn't mind if I just nipped in to do whatever was needed. No views nowadays, but it makes a nice garden feature. Onto the community owned Air Hostess in Tollerton for a nice pint afterwards. Probably the only pub in the country with that name.

(2953) Parked on Tollerton Lane and walked up to the farm. Plenty of planes from the nearby airfield overhead as I went. Called in for this one and the owner couldn't have been nicer. A good chat was had and she told me how she had played on the trig as a child. Area recently cleared so pillar fully visible. All in good condition and sporting all its original metalwork. A nice one to bag and a thank you to the owners being so accommodating. Pillar history: Built on the 14th of August 1948, at a cost of £8 12s 10d. Last maintained by the OS in June of 1978.

Pulled up in Tollerton and walked west along Little Lane bridleway, about five hundred metres, past entrance to property on south of lane. Soon after lane started to descend. Decided must have passed pillar. Up embankment on south side of lane, through trees and seemed to be at the side of the garden of the house. Walked east along the top of the embankment then spotted the pillar beside a static caravan in the garden of the house. Took a photograph then moved a bit closer. Didn’t appear to be anybody about and caravan looked unoccupied so went a bit closer. No views. Pillar in good condition, spider and cap in place.
