A hike to get to it. I'm glad I didn't read the previous entries because there's a gate in the deer fence I wouldn't have looked for. It's to the left of where the track ends, maybe 50m or more along. No views for me, it was nearly dark and a cloud had descended.

A long trek on a sunny morning from North Drumtochty following the forest tracks. Climbed over the fence at the gas pipeline marker and headed east for around 300 yards over tussocky grass and heather. Best views east seaward, and south over the Mearns.

Farmer suggested I park by sheepfold (NO 7481 8405) - roughish track for my A1. Right on track, then left up pasture. Above field, ground recently planted with conifers - hard going, plus a new deer fence to climb.

Stunning panoramic views over Aberdeenshire :) Started at Fetteresso Forest carpark but there were a lot of closed off paths due to the forestry works happening so I ended up doing a big loop of around 16km to get there

Open hill with grazing potential. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces WSW, compass measurement 248°. Vented through front and left sight holes. 270° panoramic view spans clockwise from northwest through east to southwest.

Out caching in Fetteresso Forest on the Cryne Corse Mounth right of way. Decided to make it into a circular walk to grab the trig pillar. Fantastic views all round

Went on to this TP from the Hill of Trusta. Just before leaving forest track to climb up open hillside had to divert to avoid logging operations on the track. Spider missing but otherwise TP in good condition.

Trig pillar on a bright open top in very good condition, but without its OS centre plug. Flush bracket faces WSW. The FB number was a surpise find at the time. It plugs the single gap in the middle giving a run of nine consecutive numbers. The other eight are all around Perth!!! Views to Kerloch and Cairn Mon Earn. Visited and photographed 2/08/2000, GRP.
