I liked the cycle along the Witham Bank Ln next to the canal. There was a sign saying that the road ahead was closed but you could get by if you are on a bike. After checking what side of the ditch I the Trig was on I started the walk along the bank. I have to lift the bike over several fences that seem to have no purpose with "Danger sharp edges" signs on them. Trig has crack around the bottom but otherwise is in good shape. Decided to go back a long the field edge to get to Martin South Drove as i didnt fancy lifting the bike over those fences again. Got a puncture just before I got to the road but was able to make it to the garage in Martin Dales before calling of the Cycle Recover Van for the other half to come and collect me and take me back to the cottage for a spot of lunch. Woodhall Spa was heaving with people, glad we went straight back as I didnt fancy trying to get a wheelchair around these crowds. This now ends me getting all the trigs around here so we will have to find another place to stay next time.

(202) A nice and easy and straightforward trig. Much needed after Tanvats. Parked up at Pinfold Bridge, and crossed over onto the embankment. Not sure of the score in regards to the walk down to the pillar. No private signs to be seen, but not exactly a PROW either? A good 20 minute walk each way as well, so glad I picked the correct side. Pillar cracked, but otherwise all looks good. Pillar history: Built on the 24th of September 1948, at a cost of £11 18s 4d. Last maintained by the OS in November of 1980.

Easy access along the top of the embankment. Plug intact, shallow lettering. One sighting hole open. The crack around the pillar doesn't look too serious. No idea about CJO's mystery concrete; the sawn-off bolts imply that it was part of a larger structure; base of a military emplacement perhaps.

Parked by Pinfold Bridge (178612), walked W on N top of Timberland Delph embankment and found trig easily. It is cracked all the way round. Views of flat rural landscape all round, but with a fair bit of wildlife. Skies dominated by Tornado and EurofighterTyphoon jets.

A joint visit with Carole. We parked at Pinfold Bridge to the east and walked along the northside of Timberland Delph to reach the pillar. Not actually a right of way but a good path/track all the way. About a male and a third walk there and back. Pillar in good condition and is another one that looks safe unless global warming does increase sea levels and the drainage systems arround here cannot cope. Still retains an indented lettered plug.

Pillar has a nasty crack round N, E and S sides at FB height; FB faces N; nice cap with shallow letters. Position logged from GPS device accurate to ±5m. I took the easy route back via farm track beside bank!

An excellent way to settle the pub lunch - lovely stroll along the edge of the drainage channel. 22 swans in the channel that continually kept taking off as I walked alongside them. There is a nasty crack around the base of the pillar on the S face. The original plug is there - slightly-indented letters. No paint. W sighthole open, the others closed. Concrete base exposed on the N side where the bank descends sharply into the arable fields. Flat distant views allround.

In good condition apart from a large crack around the circumference, probably frost damage, it is quite exposed. All the fixtures and fittings are intact, and the west hole was open, others plugged.
