I parked near a cattle grid above Baddinsgill Farm close to the footpath start, and took the pleasant footpath to the summit. Much better views than approaching from the Carlops side I felt, it's a pretty burn.

Second visit of three visits. Pillar in reasonable condition apart from malicious damage to the top few inches all the way round. A rogue has had a serious but failed attempt at spider removal. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces west. This is one of just thirteen pillars which were the only non-primary pillar stations to be built in Scotland before the war break. All of these were in Secondary Block NT18. Eleven survive today. One of these stations (Craigshill, S2686) was destroyed in 1970, and another (Leven Seat, S2682) was rebuilt as S9464 in 1963. Photographed 23/03/2003, GRP.

S2654 , Mount Maw The top of the pillar is damaged. Probably started by frost but continued by vandals.
S2654, Mount Maw Much of the top has been hacked apart, but the spider remains in situ.
