Rang the bell at the office and was escorted to the trig by one of the lads. Once again a bemused individual to why we are here in the snow doing this.

Drove to entrance of lane with sign saying private, Drove up lane hoping to see someone to ask permission but no one round so drove straight to Pillar, Trig in good condition with all its metal work

(1401) Parked up at the farm entrance just passed the bungalow. Met a chap there, who was happy for me to check out the pillar. Short walk through the, not too smelly, pig farm. Pillar in good condition. Pillar history: Built on the 28th of February 1951, at a cost of £7 19s 4d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1984.

Walked down track & through pig farm. Security guard came out as we were photographing the trig & was just curious & bemused as to what we were up to.

Called in at the bungalow up the drive but the lady of the house didn't know what we were talking about. She told us to go to the office in the building near the big tank. Got the O.K no problem.

All intact. Behind Yorkwold Pigpro Ltd, behind the very large slurry tank near the mast and wind turbine. A lot of construction work on-going. Asked at site managers house (as Nafferton Grange now has some very big "No public Right of Way" signs at end of drive) who readily gave permission with a very bemused look on his face.

I walked through Nafferton grange then headed north up the track towards the mast. On the way back I was nabbed by the farmer but I told him I had misread the map and he was OK. I didn't mention the trig - the least they know the better sometimes! Plug with heavily indented letters.
