Lovely walk through Coed Nercwys to find this one. We chose to follow the red route around the forest and weren’t disappointed! Nearly missed the trig point, as it’s not signposted. Retraced our steps back to the old mine and found it a short walk up the track from there. Great views of Moel Famau, Foel Fenlli, Penycloddiau, Moel y Parc and, in the other direction, Moel Gyw and beyond. Nice info on the trig about trig points as well.

Parked on the NE corner of the plantation as the car park was full on a Sundy afternoon. Made our way west through the trees on a seldom used track but then joined the main paths for an easier finish to the trig. It even has a plate about trig history on it. Admired the lead mine remains on our return.

Surprisingly popular area of woodland, a sunny Sunday afternoon probably had something to do with it. Car park on N edge overflowing. Easy walk up to pillar. Fine profile of Clwydian hills across western horizon. Well maintained, with information boards attached.

Cycled by Eryrys and East along lane to North of trig. No obvious way into woods from flat section of lane back tracked and climbed stile for ROW. Didn't spot line of ROW heading SE so before starting downhill to tarn, climbed fence and wall and waded uphill East through bracken. This intersected path and used this left to pillar. Didn't know where path led so returned by outward route. Cycling on downhill Eastwards found there's a car park and display boards showing local paths and easy route to pillar! 3rd of 5 pillar day.

Stew B's dead easy route...Post a three trig forage, Bryn Cloddiau, Billins & Moel Gyw onto Moel Llanfair & Moel y Plas, lay-by parked at GR 215 593 to take a short road walk East, taking a right into the forest via the left side of a gate. Continuing on, took a right around two information boards detailing mining activity & 'sticking' left with the path throughout, the trig soon 'presented' itself.

As noted a fabulous spot... up from Maeshafn circling to what feels like the last high land before Deeside then into the forestry. Northwards- Hollingworth Hall Moor, Kinder and Winter Hill, Bowland and Merseyside. South- Clywydian dramatically rise with the Berwyn beyond Watkins Tower and in a sunny distance the Arenigs and Cadair.

Parked in layby to north of trig. Took footpath off road across a field which entered the forest just north of the lake and south of the trig. This overgrown little used path suddenly met a clear path coming from the east and then heading south up to the trig. Area around the trig has been cleared allowing good views all round. Returned the same way.

Parked on the road to the north of the pillar. Took the public right of way (PRoW) from there. Then took the footpath (not marked on OS Maps) which runs from the PRoW at SJ 21475 58860 through a wood up to the pillar. Fantastic views all round and a great setting. This was the 300th pillar that I have bagged!

Fabulous full 360 deg vistas. But the weather was amazing. Easy access from a path opposite Woodland Cottage. A different face plate on all 4 sides of the trig. Plug missing and filled.

Good condition pillar atop Nercwys Mountain. Visited after installing a footfall counter in the forest. Superb views all round. FB faces south-ish with east-ish sightholes open only. Cap missing but asphalt plug in place. Some new plaques attached to the pillar.

Easy to do trig. Parked N.cp of Nerquis Forest,...walked up road to Woodlands Cottage,...Path opposite goes up to a Mining info board,...from behind which runs a steepish sandy path straight to trig. Grand views up there today,...Sunny & warm.

Walked from small car park along forest tracks and footpaths. There is a footpath directly to the trig which is not marked on the O.S map. Which starts at the six way junction of paths.

From minor road to N trig has small green fishing net tied to it! There is a plaque on each face of the trig one of which claims that on a clear day you will be able to see at least 2 other trigs from any given trig - food for thought there

Park in layby at SJ 219 593. Track directly south from here (not ROW) is best route, up to West boundary of wood, then rough track to trig. ROW from bend in road - wet.

There were signs warning about forestry operations, but I encountered nothing to hinder my progress up to the trig. I took ten minutes out to study the plaques whilst enjoying the panorama from the top and then continued on to Bryn Alyn HuMP.

The tree's and bracken have mow been completely cleared, and has made this quite a spectacular trig to visit. It was a cold crisp new years day and the views are now very good over the Dee estuary. Parked in a little car park to the south and walked through the forest. Quite muddy.

This one is now recumbent. Has been recent harvesting activity but no reason for that to have been a factor as immediate woodland is untouched.Nice easy access from North then a scramble across felling debris.

We parked at the entrance to Bryn Coed to the north, and followed the footpath towards the wood. We climbed over the fence at the highest point, clambered over the bit of wall and headed into the wood, and found the trig surprisingly easily. As previously mentioned it's leaning slightly. Tarmac plug.

This was out first trig, with 90mph winds that kept us off the the higher trigs nearby. TP is in wood, with ferns (October worst time to look for it!) leaning, in poor condition. Very difficult to find this without GPS, the wood must post-date the trig Private
