You can see the trig point although pretty well hidden in the hedgerow just before the telegraph pole. However, you couldn’t touch it from the one side, so head round the other side of the hedge for a better view & accessibility!

In a very special hedge - a damson hedge. In September fruits ready and make excellent jam. To 1lb fruit (simmer till soft in quarter pint water) add half pound ordinary white sugar, stir and gently, slowly bring to boil (sugar MUST be dissolved before it boils). Boil rapidly, stirring now and again to prevent burning. Whilst doing this you can fish out the numerous small stones. In about 10 mins will turn syrupy (and you should have got all the stones out by now). Poor into pre-prepared jars (fill with boiling water to sterilize, turning after a few mins to make sure top also sterilized). Next day, check set - if too firm, reheat and add some water, if too soft - boil an extra minute next time. Best jam you will ever have and half the sugar of the shop stuff. (recipe works for most fruits but for soft fruit - no water. Boiling time varies slightly and best learned by experience)
