Parked on the road to the south east of the pillar, near Knightslands Cottage. Used the stile at the beginning of the public right of way (PRoW) to enter the field to the south of Knightslands Farm, and then crossed the field to SK 08508 30921. Then climbed over a gate and then a fence, which gets you into the field to the south of the trig field. There is a gate which provides access to the trig field from that field

Nothing really to add other than to confirm that it is still there and in good condition. [Asked for permission to visit at Queelane Farm - currently being renovated - and this was readily given. Was also advised of how to get to pillar. This suggested route only involved going through open gateways. Owner intends giving the pillar a coat of paint at some time in the future.]

Nobody in at farm looks deserted; gates locked and bolted so major trespass from Quee Lane 200m east of farm. No crops and no livestock just mown silage. All quite up here. Came down Staffordshire Way from Uttoxeter. I’d been holding back on this – one of my nearest not visited trigs – it looks difficult and very exposed on the map surrounded by four farms. But it was easier than expected even without permission. It’s not arable land and hedges and small fields give plenty of cover. So it’s bagged even without the help from Wilf and Dave.

Being one of the closest to home, I thought it was about time I ticked this off. I think I've been detered by the distance from legitimate access and the proximity of two farm houses. Got home from work, changed clothes, ate a banana and dried fruit and cycled off and a sunny but windy late afternoon. I asked for permission to cross the fields at Quee Tree Farm from a lady there. She went to ask someone (husband/farmer?) inside. She returned to say it was OK as long as all the gates were shut. Continued on past the farmhouse through four gates, and turned right at the end of third field over fence, then a dog leg left through further gate to pillar. There is no obvious high spot and any views are obscured by large hedges and trees on three sides. On the fourth side you can see a long way - the remaining power station cooling towers at Willington and on to Radcliffe-on-Soar Power Station. Back at the road you can see Cannock Chase and the comms tower there. The ground was like concrete, in the area that had been deep mud care had to be taken not to twist an ankle.

I went to Quee Lane Farm and obtained permission from a friendly farm lady. Access was through several gates and very squelchy fields, boots were essential and wellies may have been the better option. One fence had to be climbed and the trig still has traces of white paint. Reasonable views on a lovely Autumn day. The trig is rather tucked away and was not readily visible.I originally enquired at Oaktree Farm and was rather curtly informed there was no trig point despite showing him the OS map.It appears that Quee Lane Farm have bought some of their land and the trig now sits on Quee Lane farm property.

Access was a bit problematical. We parked to the north east and followed the Staffordshire Way south until we got to a pond at the side of the path. I hopped the fence here and made my way to the trig across sheep and cow pasture, with two more fences to cross. No problem as there was nobody about. Pillar still has a bit of white paint. Plug with indented lettering.
