Well, we were a lot slower than TrigJS at just over an hour for the round trip which is 2.5 miles from the Spot Height where we both started. Got a feel for the views from the walk to and fro but sadly the mist was just a tad too low this morning to see what I imagine is a spectacular all-rounder from the trig. Lots of Highland cattle beat a hasty retreat with their calves as we hit the moor. Interesting but sadly illegible Memorial Stone on the way up.

Pillar in good condition. Great views even on a cloudy day. Easy to see why this location was chosen as a primary triangulation point. I parked to the northwest by spot height 368 m (see photos) and walked up. Round trip was approximately 45 minutes. It maybe possible to drive further south to Two Gates if you have a car with higher ground clearance.

Bagged at start of journey back home from stag weekend in Devon. Drove to end of Parracombe Lane and parked at spot height 368. Could have driven carefully to two gates. Hot as heck. Great sea views. Itchy.

Via Chains Barrow, and various boggy patches. A great walk on a sunny day.

Parked on the moor to the E at Two Gates (SS 6901 4343). Track from end of minor road rough in places, good ground clearance needed at one point in particular. Lovely walk over rough moorland in low cloud with cattle appearing and disappearing at regular intervals. Nice remote feel to this one with the cloud down. Pillar sits on a concrete plinth, at top of a tumulus, leeching salts from various hair fractures. Centre cap retained, lightly indented lettering; LHD side sight hole open. No views today.

Parked at the 368 spot height to the NW of the trig, although you could probably park at Two Gates. Got caught in a real downpour on the way to the pillar, but the sky cleared on arrival. The moor is very boggy after all the recent rain. Surprisingly, this primary is seldom visited.

There doesn't seem to be any way of visiting this one without a longish walk. I parked off the road at SS725404 and headed up past Pinkery Pond, Woodbarrow, Longstone Barrow and Long Stone. It was a little misty when I visited, but I imagine you could see Wales from here when it's clearer.
