I was up early so had a drive out to bag this trig before returning to collect my wife and visit Beaumaris. I parked on the road just lower down from the graveyard. I found my through the village to the low side of the hill and had to scale a wall before the short walk up to the pillar. It all felt a bit trespassy so I didn't stay long but the views out to the hills and sea were good. There had been some rain in the night that had fallen as snow on the tops and settled. The pillar is tight against the fence and appears to be in generally good condition. The spider retains the original centre.

Permission sought from landowner; we were escorted to the trig on account of the excitable horses. They perhaps didn't really understand why we wanted to visit the trig, but were very approachable and accomodating.

It took a couple of attempts to find the cemetery and it was a reminder why I prefer walking, running or cycling to trigs. I followed others advice and parked at the lower gates of the cemetery. 25 metres down the lane is gate 1 (locked), gate 2 is 5 metres further on and is open. The pillar is half left in a field....very obvious. Those horses can shift somewhat, so edge your way around the field. Dear Prince Philip RIP I gift to you.

Could find no easy, public access to the field where the Trig was situated. It was clearly visible from the nearby cemetery. In the end I had to climb over the gate near the cemetery as indicated by previous visitors. I was observed by some curious horses on my way to the Trig, no doubt they were interested to know how I would cope with the electric fence about halfway up the hill! The fence was a single wire so I was able to duck under! The Trig was in vgc and appeared to be intact.
