Arrived here an hour after sunrise... later than planned. Attempted access via the adjacent allotments on the reservoir's SW side, but stymied by the second gate that wasn't possible to go over due to it's flimsiness. Couldn't see another way in, well done to peregrinus for finding an access point! Photos are from the NW corner after parking at the end of Thornton Rd. Similar views can be had from end of Hillcrest Rd.

Sadly no kindly reservoir workers to let me in today but got this one after going the wrong location several months ago. Silly me! Very easy to see even if you can't get close.

Knew I wouldn't be able to get to this one and I wasn't wrong. Very visible, on top of covered reservoir, from street at top of estate, but behind serious fence and roller wire. No way in ! Parakeet flew over.

Yes, an annoying one: on NE corner of covered resr: can see N, E and W faces of pillar: FB presumably on S face i.e. the one not visible from outside. Trig evidently in good condition. Impressive fence. 4 Parrakeets flew over while I was there. Gained access on a subsequent visit: vgc, metal cap, deep letters.

As this is my nearest trigpoint I have visited several times hoping the heavily fortified site might be open. I was in luck this time as an employee was just unlocking the gates and he kindly escorted me to the top of the reservoir telling me it was built around 1936 and is topped with a four foot layer of concrete Pillar is in very good condition (as you would expect) set on a fine concrete plinth with indented lettering and all four sight holes open. There are fantastic panoramic views all round including the Wembley Stadium Arch which is about 17 miles distant.

Like others repelled by the impressive fence, not able to find an aspect to even be able to train the zoom lense (how would that of looked!) at the FB :(

As the previous log stated, the pillar is clearly visible on top of the reservoir but unreachable due to an impressive security fence. It does appear to be in good condition though. On the day of my visit the site was receiving attention from a grass cutting team. Unfortunately they had locked the gates behind them. Although their machinery was parked near the gate, there was no sign of the team. So I couldn't even beg to be allowed in for a closer look!
