This one has been long on my radar so really pleased to put it to bed. Parked on Stoney Lane near the junction to Dee Road. I accessed the trig field through a hedge gap near the junction with Trent Road. The field edge resembles a footpath and appeared well used which eased any anxiety. Pillar at top of hill and easily accessed. Exposed base. Sadly the graffiti is back with a vengeance. Logging as good but it's approaching slightly damaged with some scuffing. Views better than expected across to Liverpool and the Clywdian Range. That's 4 of the 6 Merseyside pillars bagged now.

First ever TP visited in Merseyside, my 58th county - only 2 English counties left to visit, Cornwall and Shropshire. When you live in North Northumberland not having visited Cornwall is reasonably forgiveable...The graffiti has almost disappeared, but the broken glass is proliferating...

Parked on Trent Road and took the short walk along the PRoW to the trig. It is in a good location with good all round views. There is some faded graffiti on the pillar, hopefully it will be visited soon by one of the amazing painters.

Walked from Rainhill Railway Station, about ten minutes brisk walk. West along main road out of the station then south at traffic lights. At T junction went around east side of school (?) gap in fence just big enough to squeeze through, luckily pillar visible to south west on high ground. Good views towards Liverpool, no cap, some graffiti, raised S prefix. Bit untidy around the pillar, base slightly exposed. Hurried back to station to catch train which turned out to be delayed by 25 minutes. Time to look around the historic station and admire the skew bridge.

Took the wrong path to this trig point and had to give up as the weeds and undergrowth became impenetrable!! Returned to road and found better path although still quite hidden!

On way to pick son up from Liverpool airport. Easy to find, a quick nip up the field from a gap in Stoney Lane following a hedge line SW towards the corner where it joins up with other hedges. A clear day, and this is what it makes me give it a score of 8 as both Liverpool's cathedrals, St Johns Tower and the Welsh hills could be seen towards the west. Trig is in good condition, having been given a fresh coat of white paint.

Bagged this one while visiting the nearby cache. Since its last log the locals have decided to spray it with graffiti. Trig is slightly damaged and the plug is missing. Goods views of Liverpool from up here.

Pillar is just a short uphill walk from the nearby road. Trigpoint looks in fairly good condition although this may well be because it has been painted in white emulsion - even the flush bracket! Base exposed and obviously a target for graffiti in the past.

I was sat in the car looking at a map when a man walking his dog spotted me and would not let me go without offering me advice on how to reach the trig. Dead right he was too in telling me to ask the man living in the caravan in the field in Stoney Lane if it would be OK to walk up the hill on the temporary steel road virtually directly to the trig. I never did work out why the temporary road had been laid. Photo to follow. The trig looks a little sorry for itself with graffiti on the sides.
