Good parking at start of forest road. Initially I tried to get to the trig from the bridge over the West Burn but there was no way through the conifers. Back round to the North and found a route easily up through more mature woodland, no crags encountered.

From forest track to N. Cross Baston Burn/Shallow Tongue and continue to about 735933 on the track. This point is just W of due N of the trig. Just after a crag there's a fallen tree/log in the ditch on RHS. Cross it & there is a path up & to L. This swings all the way under the crags and gradually up through nice old forest. Then head due E to trig point. Avoids all the thick new forest & bracken. Still lots of ticks though.

Found easily on second attempt. First attempt, a couple of weeks earlier, had been an impromptu and un-researched stop off that resulted in 30 minutes of futile thrashing about in the deepening gloom of a dark and stormy January afternoon. Today however, armed with all the info below, no problems at all. I would add that as you progress up the line of mature trees there is a trail of rather faded and tattered orange ribbons tied to trees every 10m or so, which lead up the hill until the summit knoll appears on your right. If you find these you'll find the TP with no problem.

A late Sunday morning search for a very difficult to reach trig as it's situated in the middle of a forestry plantation. Started from the layby on the back road to Cambusbarron and followed forestry road so far then made my way through a type of clearing. Superb views over the Carse of Stirling to the hills of the Highlands at the start but once trig was found no views due to the expanse of trees.

First section was easy enough, parking at N56° 07.207' W4° 01.247' and heading up the forest track, went up to the highest point and then did my best to pick a route up the trackless hillside to the trigpoint, tough going for about 350m.

Saw this on the sat nav and decided to go for a walk before arriving at parents. Straightforward FC walk up track passing the oil cut off. Then further up path, jumped over a wall/fence and an easier walk alongside wall, then a jump back over and hoofed it through trees and frozen moss/grass to eventually spot the trig. Spooked another Snipe. Lovely views of snow capped hills on way down as the sun lit them up red. Found an injured Siskin on way up and tucked it under some cover. Found it flapping about on the way back down so took it with me to get some help. Tree felling taking place, hopefully the will get up to the trig and open up these amazing views again. Cheers

Passed by on my descent from Carleatheran. Fairly easy for me to find having entered the wood a little SW of the trig. There seemed to be an area to the east of the trig fenced off with deer fencing perhaps to protect newly planted trees but the trig is not in this area. I presume approaching from the east is therefore inadvisable.
