Took the T6 bus to the road junction for Aberbran in the Usk valley, then lanes and FP through fields to rolling hill top which, after close cropping of extensive bracken for bedding in the autumn, was very pleasant to walk over. With snow streaks on the distant Bannau Brycheiniog and the Usk swollen, turbulent and a deep brown colour after endless rain, it was only the singing sky larks and cries of young lambs that made it feel like spring. Another red dragon pillar. Then it was off on quiet lanes to Brecon, with a visit to the Pen-y-crug hill fort to see if any more of its pillar had emerged from its stone jacket-- it hadn't. Time for a coffee in Brecon before catching T6 home.

Revisit 3 of 4 for the day (First Visit 16/9/21). Super view from the top. Parked on right, slight clearing, good open paths maybe bridleway? Could see two standing stones from the road so followed paths to these trig just a little further on. Stones marked T, AM. Trig painted all over white. Flush Bracket, Spider and cap in place. Some really good views of PYF et al from this side of the fans.

Short walk from minor road through fern up onto hillside where this strikingly white painted trig came into view. Paint getting a little worn when viewed closely, but trig in good condition; original cap with deeply indented lettering; 1 sight hole open for drainage. Superb 360deg views, especially S to main Brecon peaks, but also W across Nant-Bran valley to Twyn Disgwylfa and Llanfihangel trig where we had been earlier in the day. Lovely sunny day - perfect lunch stop.
