Visited three trig points during an eight mile hike starting from Lepton and never straying to far from what is probably the most prominent trig point in the area - Emley Moor. This was the second and it is easily seen alongside the farm house as you approach. The lady of the farm was already outside and kindly allowed me to visit the trig point. It is in generally good condition and retains the original centre for the spider. Reasonable views.

(1638) Drove up to the farm, and met with the lady of the house - "Are you here for the trig-point?" Permission freely given to visit, and we both made our way to the pillar. As it's very close to the house, they are grateful when people ask. A nice chat ensued, and she even took photos of me at the pillar as well. Apparently the pillar was adopted by the local scout group, but they no longer bother with it. Pillar history: Built on the 10th of May 1937, at a cost of £4 14s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in October of 1985.
