This was a roadside bag. Parked opposite on The Wold Road. It’s nestled in a Hedgerow but easy to see. Spider and FB intact but this trig is very weathered. 3rd of 7 today

Indeed in a hedge but trampled about the summer growth a bit so the plate shows. Roads a bit rat runny but glorious views across the crop fields and in the distance the sense of the coast.

Extremely easy access but weathered and buried in the hedge - I don't know how you'd see this in high summer. Pillar appears to be in good condition, it has an original cap and no flailer damage as far as I could see. Two-minute trig, this.

A very easy roadside bag with no views to speak of. The pillar is concealed on three sides by the hedgerow but the flush bracket is visible. You can just see the spider through the branches which retains its original centre. I suspect it wouldn't be visible in the summer months due to the leaf cover. Overall the pillar appears to be in good condition.

Spent half an hour walking up and down field side of hedge. The road was too busy to risk, and the verge was heavily overgrown. I will return after the nettles and deep foliage has died down.

I parked at the signed picnic site at Fryer's Copse and took a walk north down Wold Road. Not quite the quiet country lane I had hoped for, but there was enough verge to keep safe(ish). As Walkington Heads road got nearer I thought I had missed it, but then there it was, in the hedge on the East side of the road. FB faces the road but the pillar only displayed the FB side, all else was ensconced within the hedge. Had to wait for the cars to clear in order to get a quick picture and a quick tig. Job done.

(692) Busy road, but a field entrance directly opposite the pillar allows parking, of sorts. Hedge not totally claiming the pillar, but without a haircut, it'll not be long. Hard to get a clear shot of the top. All good, though. Pillar history: Built on the 24th of February 1951, at a cost of £14 14s 9d. Last maintained by the OS in February of 1988.

They don't get any easier than roadside ones and this is another good example. Pillar is now well and truely part of the hedge but it is still there and in good condition. Waved to passing police van whilst I was doing my visit. I wonder if my registration number was checked!

(199) Walked up and down the road, then up and down the field line and still didn't find it. Walked back to the car and just had one last broggle in the hedge, and there it was. Some serious roadside gardening uncovered a trig.

A good map will enable you to find this in the hedgerow (overgrown that it was in my case) - simply check out the field boundary to the east and you will find it across the road. This road seems as if it's in the middle of nowhere, so why all the traffic at this time of day?

Sorry to disagree with Steptoes but this TP does exist exactly where it should be - BUT it is totally overgrown in a hedge and I would not have found it without the GPS taking me to it.
