No fencing remembered by me on my first visit to this pillar 6/8/05. . for my geeky invention of a 'Birthday trig Walk of Life' this is my son Jamie's 6th birthday trig pillar and this was a deliberate detour to sit Jamie on it five weeks after his sixth birthday. Dad was excited to point out the significance of this trig to Jamie, to which his response was, "So what dad!!" Fly forward 18 years and I returned in February 2023 out of hours to make an air dry clay cast of the flush bracket only to find, to my dismay, it all behind fences and six foot High gates and chicken farm and wind farm. Abandoned then and vowed to come back at a time when it might be open. But today I arrived in the middle of the night at 2am to look for somewhere close by to sleep the night in my car and attempt it in daylight and see whether there would any reasonable means of access. A useful woodland car park found very close by to the west. After only a couple of hours sleep woke up at five and decided to go and have a checkout in daylight. Notice that the fence to the right of the gate wasn't totally secure at the bottom and could be pulled up a little bit and I speculated that since I had a ground sheet in my car that perhaps I could put the ground sheet down and maybe there was just enough room if I lay on my back to slide underneath the fence while I pulled to up. Yes, I was right, this I managed to do at 5.30am..job done pics and clay mould made. Yabbadabbadoo
