Walked up Farthingstone Road from boat tied up at Weedon. Good views of the impressive former Royal Ordnance Depot from the road.

Pulled over on north west side of road opposite entrance to house. Pillar visible to north on edge of field. Entered field to west over gate and walked along field boundary for about 75 metres. Over old iron gate to get closer to pillar which is next to a hawthorn tree. Good views in most directions except towards south east, obscured by house and trees. Spider and cap in place.

Had a day of trig bagging with Steve Pennock, Trudge & Tracey, based around visiting the one at Silverstone. This was the 4th of the day. Parked roadside next to the gate for the short walk to the pillar. Reasonable views of the rolling hills in the distance. The pillar is in generally good condition and retains all the original metalwork.

A very easily accessed pillar at the corner of a recently harvested field. I don't think I've ever been observed bagging a pillar as much as I was here - the adjacent field had a herd of very curious cows in it, which followed my every move! Nice expansive view from this one.

Easy walk up from road along field edge. I could see the rain starting to come in. Hope I dont get too wet. Leg is fine on uneven ground at moment. So that is a good sign!

On walk from canal, boat moored at Weedon Bec. On field boundary under a tree, easy access. Crop in field but walked around edge. Good condition, all intact.Good views over the Nene valley. Weedon Bec has a fascinating old ordnance depot which is well worth visiting.

Although the field where the trig lives had recently been planted up with crops the adjacent field was just grass so access was straightforward enough. No bird scarers operating today I am glad to say. Good views north to what look like mill buildings in Weedon.

Just off a lane near the village of Weedon and on the edge of a field of oilseed rape which was just coming into flower. It's all intact with the central plug. There are really good views over Northamptonshire in all directions. Incidentally, if anyone else goes in the near future, be aware of the fact that right by the pillar is an automatic bird-scarer! It went off while I was there.........
