This was the first Trig Point I've bagged with Stevey since Mount Keen in March 2003 when I was on my way to compleating the Munros ~~ 17/12/22 In snow and ice, and a fourth different route of approach - a 5 mile walk starting at Holburn Grange, NE along SCW via the cave, NW around Copsey Hill and then a gentle ascent SE up past Holborn Lake. A really enjoyable route, great views E and W throughout. In the company of Richard Hoban ~~ 10/02/22 third different route, with Lucy Frost. Took the most straight forward approach from the NT car park at Holburn Grange, via St Cuthbert's Cave (not too badly damaged by Storm Arwen). The walk up to the TP from the cave on a day of yet more very strong winds was exhilarating, but the views were clear and extensive but standing up straight to admire them was extremely difficult ~~ 31/05/20 2nd visit, different route - from the SE parked just before Swinhoe Farm and followed ROW through delightful woods past Swinhoe Lake before cutting W up SCW. Views of Holy Island made more spectacular by rolling sea fret swirling round the castle. Views to the W on a cloudless day were just stunning.

Visited after doing circular walk from Holburn Grange to St Cuthberts Cave and Swinhoe Farm. What a superb viewpoint. This is as good as Ros Castle just to the south for views of the Cheviots and the coast. Easy ascent from the cave to reach this one, surrounding ground is dry with a good path to trig. Got there, had a bite to eat on a nice but chilly day, then watched the sunset behind Cheviot and Hedgehope. Then to the Bluebell in Belford for a few pints of Black Sheep, superb!
