Easy to access, on the south east corner of the road if approached from the east side of the bridge over the railway line. Interesting location name. Extra point for that. In partial vegetation, steep drop on south east side. FB located on west face. No views other than to the south east but obscured by vegetation. Special trip to here this morning after missing it yesterday. Only realised it was here after getting back from a ride to Newton Covert and seeing it on the OS map!

(63) Parked up just over the bridge on the pathway/ROW entrance. The pillar can be found easily from the roadside. Look for the grit container, and the telegraph pole. Hedgerow is quite open near the pillar, so climbing inside isn't too bad. A good complete pillar in a usual setting. Pillar history: Built on the 26th of November 1948, at a cost of £9 3s 8d. Last maintained by the OS in December of 1980.

Last of three trigs on way back from Horncastle. Used hand drawn map along meandering lanes up from the A158 to Wickenby and thanks to previous logs found the trig stuck in bushes at the railway bridge. No views.

A revisit after 8.5 years, but I should have waited another 0.5 as summer isn't the best time to visit this one. The pillar appears to be in good condition but I wasn't able to stand at it to observe the top.

It's there but not too easy to locate. A joint visit with Carole. Our initial approach was to go over the fence beside the bridge. Pillar can then be located in the hedge but it is above you. From the road it is behind the telegraph pole but well hidden in hedge. Be prepared to get scratched to get the flush bracket details.

It is evident having read the previous logs that the seasons make a lot of difference when accessing trigs. At this time of year the trig was still easily visible from the road though the flush bracket took a little more stealth to access.

This TP is located close to the Lincoln - Grimsby railway line, and along the lane to Wickenby is the Broadbent Theatre, founded by the father of actor/film star Jim Broadbent. Grid ref to 10 metres only.

Buried in the undergrowth. The FB No is definitely S4915 {S4315 is Roeshot Hill at SZ192944}. Plug with indented lettering.

This pillar is quite hard to find as it is buried in a hedge, on a bank betweeen a railway line and a bridge. It is also quite hard to get to as there are brambles around it. Not the best pillar to get to by far.

I remember visiting this sometime in June 1990. The road bridge had two metal prongs sticking out of it and we wondered if it had originally been placed on the bridge parapet?
