Parked on the road to the east of the pillar, next to the enclosure where the pillar is. Was getting very dark by the time I got there. Nevertheless, found a gap in the hedge and crawled through it into the enslosure. All good with the pillar

Thanks due to previous visitors who trimmed back the vegetation. Tricky to find even so close to the road. I parked near a mini nature reserve a few hundred yards away. Nice views from there even if none from the pillar.

Approached from north east, pulled over at T junction. Seemed to be the correct location as had gained height and road layout looked right. However all that was visible from the road where pillar should be was thick bushes. Soon discovered a gap in the vegetation on the south west side of the bushes to get through. Voila! Well hidden and well protected by the bushes. Just about ok to get picture of FB , needed shears to do a gardening job. Spider and cap in place, OS plaque also in place. No views at all, except a house across a field to north west.

Through the gate easy bag only a fence to climb near trig with no barbed wire. Trig in vgc with cap no views no mental GMOL this time !

Access not possible from roadside. Field gate at TF 2668 8131 allows access to a small triangle of very overgrown ground in which sits the pillar. An original centre cap is retained, raised lettering; RHS sight hole open. No views.

(88) A good drive up a steep hill, with some pretty decent views and sights. Parked up in a field entrance right next to the junction, and managed to find a gap in the hedge to explore this pillar. The FB faces towards the road, but you would never see it from there! Everything very overgrown, but still enough room to see and photograph the pillar. Though visiting this late on/early on in the year, would seem to be the best way. The field right next to it was full of grazing sheep.

Rather a steep hill to cycle up to get to this one. And because of that, I thought it might have some good views. But as its another Lincs Trig berried in a hedge, it has nothing of the sort. Still coming down the hill was great!

Geocaching in the area and spotted this just up the road on the map. Farmer working in adjacent field said it was ok to enter field so went in at the gate 100 yards up the road and walked back to the corner. Pillar in good condition but is slowly being swallowed by a large and bushy shrub.

Roadside-ish Under hedge and over two fences and its there

Circular walk from Donington on Bain via Stenigot and Biscathorpe. I thought this would be an easy bag but I was wrong. Squeezed under hedge and over fence into field then over same fence to get to trig point. would have been much easier crossing gate about 100 metres to the north east. This trig point is slowly getting buried in thick undergrowth and may become impossible to reach in the future.

Didn't spot the trig on the map on the way to the WW2 radar station nearby. Lucky to find it, get there soon as thick hedges growing all round. It's a crawl through. Theres a strange concrete structure nearby, anyone any idea?

Joint visit with Carole. Not the easiest pillar to get to although can be seen through the hedge. After a failed crawl through a second attempt proved more successful. Frome the field side the climbing of a relatively new fence is now necessary. Everything in good order.

Hurrah, this was our 2nd visit to this trig, the last being in July 2006, this time we went straight to the gate and then it was a quick walk to the corner of the field where we saw the trig nestling under the trees.A lovely day for a spot of Trigpointing.

a lot of pain involved in getting to this, under the hedge, can still feel it now, even worse reading now that there is a gate.

I passed by whilst on a walk, so I looked through the hedge to check it was still there, but no crawl-through this time. Condition assumed good.

At the time of my visit there was a convenient (in relative terms!) hole though the hedge, possibly from the last person also no knowing about the gate. Fine drive to get here and a pleasant day for it. (although a frustrating morning of not finding other trigs)

A short distance further south on the lane is a small nature reserve, with an unusual outcrop of red chalk, called approriately Red Hill. Grid reference to 10 metres only.

Well protected by some vicious thorn bushes - still I made it through and have enough blood to record my find. Note flush bracket number is different to that recorded previously

I could see the bracket number but there was no way i was going to stand next to it. The pillar is on the opposite side of a thick hawthorn hedge and through head hieght nettles.
