Quick bag as I was passing by. Literally got out my car and crossed the road to it. Didnt fancy climbing over the crumbling wall and barbed wire to get to it, so not my usual amount of pics.

Parked on Allerton Road near the pillar. Climbed over the wall into the trig field. There is a piece of string tied to one of the hooks on the top of the pillar, which is helping to prop up a fence post

(2324) Must have been well over twenty horses in the field today. As I stood roadside and level with the pillar, they all came over to say hello. And that put the tin lid on that! REVISIT: 7.11.21 Two days later and I'm back again in West Yorkshire, and no horses this time around thankfully. Low wall easily scaled, and it was the work of a moment to properly log and photograph this one. Success! Pillar history: Built on the 6th of July 1947, at a cost of £8 19s 3d. Last maintained by the OS in August of 1986.

The pillar is tucked behind a dilapidated dry stone wall in a very muddy field full of horses. You can park at the trig, and touch it without crossing the wall, but if you want to check the flush bracket you have to carefully hop over as it faces the field. Very easy access, but only because the wall is crumbling. Pillar in good condition with an original cap.

Easily found as it's next to the wall on Allerton Road. Surrounded by plastic rubbish from the horse feed. Reasonable views in the direction of Queensbury.

I walked up from Keelham after visiting Hill Top ROC Bunker,I have never seen so many horses in one field,some great photo's for wife to look at when I get home.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 6th July 1947 costing £8.19s.3d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station SE22/T72 in 1949. Levelled for height to Class 1 precision, tertiary standards in 1956. Last maintainedby the OS in August 1986. SITE VISIT: Approached from Allerton Road, ample urban parking in side streets to north. Pillar on field side of boundary wall. Easy wall hop into field and along to trig. Grazing field. Column in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces south across field, compass measurement 183°. Vented through west and east sight holes, south and north buried. 180° open outlook centred on south, northerly aspect is trees and houses.

2017 Bagging is go. Good start too, a survivor. Fought my way around the ring road, never driven or been here before but parked easy roadside in Allerton and walked down Allerton Lane trig is just in field, protected by a dry stone wall near a bush. Good news is that it is reachable to tig by leaning over wall a bit. I found this is the dark easily, shame it was dark actually this is quite high looking over the lights of Bradford to the E below. Looked in good condition. One more pillar for half of West Yorkshire (the easy half by the looks)

(44) 3/8 parked down the road and walked up to this one after driving past twice trying to locate it, pillar was hiden from view by a rather friendly horse,once it had moved it was just a quick hop over the wall to get to it , lovely views across to ovenden

Log #40. (277m). Leg 1 of a very windy 4 trig, 8km walk from Allerton to Cottingley. Had intended 5 trigs, but battling the wind wore me to a frazzle. Here at Allerton Rd, the Trig was in better shape than me, with decent views. No stile nearby, and not in my nature to climb over dry stone walls, (Country Code), so didnt get the Flush Bracket.
