Intermittent track from W; not too soggy today. Marker stone readily found, adjacent to black plastic sheeting. SW side of wall. Turf removed to expose rod in concrete block. Stone reinstated. The previous visitor did all the work :) Unexpected rain soon cleared to wide views.

Brass rod marker in block 4m from wall, immediately S of half buried black polythene. Standing at right angles to obvious oblong stone in wall, trig is 1ft to your R. Difficult search as surrounded by false positives which I mostly removed and left against wall in line with the trig. From W, wellies needed for a ditch crossing, thankfully not for manure reported by CJO, site now clean

Grid reference indicates block is adjacent to drystone wall. On approach from west i hoped the location would be to north of the wall, a field of short grass, unfortunately all 3GPS devices in the party indicated the location as being some 3-4 meter to the south of the wall in the tall wet reeds. Had a good hunt around with many buried stones adding to the frustration. Two large slabs of bedrock exist to the North of the wall but no evidence of having been used by the original survey team. As the rain set in enthusiasm wavered and we abandoned the hunt. The search was possibly not helped as the local farmer uses the area as his cow manure store.
