Supposedly a beacon on top of the tower but unable to see through scaffolding and in daylight

Assuming that a Beacon is to stop planes hitting the tower, a pair of lights is visible above the cladding when viewed from Woodmill Lane from the Itchen Navigation. No access sought to the disc. No photo as I had a train to catch.

2 years after CJO's photograph the building remains swathed in scaffolding and netting. Currently named South Stoneham Hall, it's part of the University of Southampton complex. No sign of a Beacon (presumably on the roof somewhere), let alone a Disc (whose whereabouts is completely unknown).

What a monster!! - updated 26/06/2012 in view of Pyoung1s' log - i agree "Beacon" is not visible from the road, looking on Google Earth it might be missing??
