From Ogwen via Pen-yr-Ole Wen. Big chunk of stone/cement with protruding angle iron on summit cairn, almost certainly from lost trig. Sunny and clear on Carneddau but south of Tryfan was a sea of thick, low lying white cloud as far as the horizon, with only the tops of the highest hills protruding. Continued to C. Snowdonia was bathed in sunshine all day and was certainly seen in all its glory. The first proper mountains in a while, and jogged around the 6 Nuttalls in the western Carneddau with a couple of exciting scrambles thrown in. Gosh I have missed these big boys. Visited Carnedd Dafydd twice due to an out and back to a Nuttell. Couldn't locate remains, but I was there. No water up here so gifting my Ultimate Direction vest which carries 1.5 litres in two bottles either side of your chest. Great minimalistic piece of equipment (when you can guarantee good weather or your racing). NB. The remains were found 6/2/2023 on the summit cairn next to 3 semi detached stone shelters. Weather similar to 14/4/2021.

The conditions this day were favourable most of the way and I was able to continue the walk to its conclusion over Glyder Fawr, and up and down Snowdon comfortably by late afternoon.
